Default ports and addresses
The ports FlowReactor's services listen on by default, the addresses to point your application at, and how to change them.
On this page
Every service listens on 127.0.0.1, the loopback address of your computer.
| Service | Listens on | Point your application at | Forwards to (proxies) |
|---|---|---|---|
| PostgreSQL proxy | 15432 |
127.0.0.1:15432 |
localhost:5432 |
| MySQL proxy | 13306 |
127.0.0.1:13306 |
localhost:3306 |
| DynamoDB simulator | 8000 |
http://127.0.0.1:8000 |

| HTTP API simulator | 18080 |
http://127.0.0.1:18080 |

| HTTP proxy | 18081 |
http://127.0.0.1:18081 |
The URL you enter |
| Cognito simulator | 9229 |
http://127.0.0.1:9229 |
Cognito token issuers are http://127.0.0.1:9229/<pool id>, with keys at
<issuer>/.well-known/jwks.json.
Changing a port
Stop the service, change Port under Configuration › Addresses, and choose Save addresses. For a database proxy, the same section sets the real database's host and port; an HTTP proxy's upstream is under Configuration › Upstream. Duplicate gives the copy the next free port automatically.
If a port is already taken, the service fails to start with
could not listen on 127.0.0.1:…. See
Troubleshooting.
From containers and other machines
Because services listen on 127.0.0.1 only, they can't be reached from
another computer, a virtual machine, or a Docker container. Run the
application you're testing directly on the same computer as FlowReactor.
