What changed in each FlowReactor release.
0.3.0
FlowReactor can now sit in front of a real HTTP API: watch every request, answer some routes yourself, block others, and break the rest on purpose.
New
- HTTP proxy. Add an HTTP proxy, enter the real API's URL, and point your app at FlowReactor instead. Every request is forwarded and shows in Activity, with what your app sent, what went to the API and what came back. HTTPS APIs are checked against your system's trusted certificates, with a switch for self-signed ones.
- Mock, forward or block each route. A route can answer with your own responses, forward to the real API, or block the request. Requests no route matches go to the real API, so you only mock what you need.
- Create a mock from a real response. Select a forwarded request and choose Create mock route. FlowReactor drafts a route that answers with the API's real status, headers and body, for that exact path or for any id, such as
/patients/{patientId}. It warns you if the body looks like it holds secrets. - Match on the query string. A route can answer only when the request has the query parameters you list. Other requests go to the next route.
- HTTP faults. Add latency with jitter, or fail, time out, drop, cut short or slow down a share of requests. Each fault can happen before the API sees the request, or after it answers, so you can test a payment that went through while your app got an error. Set faults for the whole service, or give a route its own.
- Proxied or mocked, at a glance. Activity tags each HTTP proxy request Proxied, Mocked or Blocked, and new filters show just those.
- Warnings for hidden routes. FlowReactor tells you when an earlier route catches every request a later one would, so the later one never answers.
Improved
- Easier-to-read request details. Body, Headers and Query are sections you can collapse, and they stay that way for the next request you open. Header values have a copy button. Timing shows where the time went, then each step with its time.
- Jump to latest only when it helps. The button no longer appears when the newest event is already on screen.
Fixed
- No delete button on the open project. In Open project, the open project showed a greyed-out delete button all the time. It's gone; the "open" label already marks that project.
Projects open as before. Once you save a project in this version, earlier versions of FlowReactor can't open it.
